about

Hello. My name is Jo. Welcome to my interim blog (I am working on getting a site up and running), I'm glad you're here. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am 22 years old; I have a business degree from Shenandoah University; I work at Liberty Baptist Church; the people God has put in my life are the most important thing to me; I love fashion (I run a fashion blog here); I am a pescatarian; I enjoy yoga and kickboxing; I will travel at any opportunity that comes my way; I enjoy film and the study of film and arts; I am very passionate about helping those who cannot help themselves; and I thrive off of change and creativity.

I have been doing photography as a hobby for as long as I can remember getting my hands on a camera, but I officially established Johanna Journeys Photography, LLC as a business in the Fall of 2013. Shooting makes me happy, from the early stages of planning locations and styles to the moment the prints are in my hands (or on my screen). It brings me joy to know that a moment can be forever captured in a frame. Though I like capturing everything from nature to cityscapes to clothes to food (I love a good shot of a fancy latte), my favorite thing to photograph is people (like you!). So much emotion can be captured in photographs, and it's my hope that when you see your images (today, tomorrow, or 20 years from now), you can remember the feelings you felt in that very moment, smell the flowers in the field you were in, taste the tea you were sipping on, or feel the embrace of your husband on your wedding day.

I would love to meet you- let's meet up for a cup of coffee (or tea) and talk!

"A photograph is more than just something you can hold in your hand or gaze upon with your eyes; it captures a specific moment in time, a tick of the clock which is never to be relived. Time passes in but a second, but in a photograph it can live on forever."
